Double B-Sides
04.04.18 – 21.04.18

A Double B-Side is the release of two tracks on the flip-side of a record single. The songs are often considered secondary or bonus material, not to be confused with the A-Side single. The work in this exhibition extends this idea to the flip-side of a painting. Print-making and painting processes have explored the peripheral side of materials to create a series of “B-side” recordings. The manual process developed and repeated for each work reveals a frottage of the studio floor, which is recorded in block ink. As a series of multiples, the installation of the works proposes a compilation of Double-B-Side-studio-floor-recordings.

Troy is currently studying a Master of Fine Art at Monash University. He completed a BFA (Hons) at RMIT University in 2014.
