We live in a era where everything moves quickly, technology evolves at the speed of light and our patience for images has been greatly reduced. It often seems that everything is made to be automatic and go faster.

Technology is promoted as a solution to our problems and an answer to our questions? The internet has made us passive, algorithms have rendered our behaviour see-through. Information collected about individuals online is now used to predict our futures. We are surrounded by and encounter many of our daily experiences through screens and virtual displays.

Simon’s combination of abstract painting, digital imagery, and assemblage act as a record of the unseen interactions we have with our digital interfaces. These works hold a mirror to our tumultuous relationship with this new digital phenomena; being at once, beautiful, complicated, transparent, and multifaceted.
