5 Abstractions

5 Abstractions brings together five artists — Melbourne-based Lachlan Stonehouse, Emma Langridge, Aaron Martin, and John Aslanidis, alongside Belgium-based Michael Vandorpe — each engaging with abstract painting through distinct processes and perspectives. Each artist was invited to present two works: a large-scale painting accompanied by a smaller piece that either serves as a study or complements the larger work in concept, form, or palette. The resulting exhibition offers insight into the diverse thinking of the artists and their individual approaches to contemporary abstraction.
