Light with Hope – Peace

“Light with Hope – Peace” is a site-specific installation that is a development of the public art installation “Light with Hope” and “Light with Hope – Harmonious” produced in 2021 and 2022.

This artwork creates symbolic miner’s lamps using traditional bamboo steamers and modern safety mesh. It intends to deliver a message of refuge for those venturing into the unknown and seeking a better life.

All the lanterns are handmade, painted with gold, with the word ‘peace’ inserted on the latern’s interior. The project emphasizes that although we are individuals, we all live together and coexist with the land, environment, and each other. Like the light from a miner’s lamp, this artwork intimates that we can share light, hope, and peace in any situation.
