Cloud Creek Water
02.11.22 – 19.11.22
The paintings and drawings in Cloud Creek Water have been inspired by my daily walks along the local creek and the experience of being immersed in the complex paths and waves of the ground, the water and the sky. The layered patterns and forms in the works are an abstracted interpretation of the multiplicities and textures found in nature, where repetitions and rhythms accumulate and build through streams and furrows, eddies and furls; in the intricate details and wide expanses.
Through this body of work I have aimed to develop an abstract language that can encompass spontaneity and responsiveness, while still making room for precision and geometry. I have tried to work more across the paintings and drawings than individually, considering them as parts of a whole vision, part of the same continuum.
