Shelley Jardine
Under Instruction
31.01.18 – 18.02.18
Under Instruction investigates the notions of movement, space, embodiment and enation through the employment of written instruction. Navigating the viewer through the gallery space through the visual language of hard-edge geometric abstraction, a relationship between the viewer, art, artist and gallery space is promoted. By questioning the concept of space and inter-bodily resonance, Jardine establishes situations and environments, providing the viewer with a platform for contemplation, observation, perception and judgment. The use of paint, the brush stroke, colour and shape are integral elements of forming the journey and the experience within the space.
Jardine is an artist, curator and educator and has a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Visual Arts), a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and is currently a PhD candidate at Deakin University.
