These are the most recent works related to an interest in tapa cloth and ikat weaving and other rhythmic patterns in Australian Pacific tribal or Asia Pacific communities’ cultural expression. They are, in imagery, located within this part of the world, our region of the Pacific. However, these artworks are not symbolic or intended to be traditionally depictive in any way. They are about looking, gazing without clear focus. Light without source. Discernment without conclusion. Looking without seeking. They could be linked back to many earlier works by the artist, with repeated modules, asymmetrical compositional devices and a broad variety of kinetic fields of activity. These works are painted with acrylic house paint on aluminium composite panels.
