PERIMETER III is the second iteration of Perimeter, with the first exhibition taking place in 2016.
This curated exhibition endeavors to explore the abstract concept of the outer edge, boundaries, framing, cartography, and mapping through the lens of non-objective art. Traditionally, the boundary or edge has been regarded as the definitive confines of content or, in certain cases, merely a framework within the realm of easel painting.
To challenge this confining implication, the participating artists in this exhibition have refocused attention on the perimeter, thereby forging a closer connection between the viewer and the outer edge. An approach that effectively subverts the notion of confinement and transforms it into one of creation, thereby unshackling spatial limitations and venturing beyond the outer edge— to the surrounding space and architecture.
In so doing, the exhibition evokes a contemplation of the possibilities that exist within and beyond, blurring the demarcation between inside and outside, and inviting us to contemplate the realms that lie on either side of the boundary.
