The Point at Which We Meet
10-11-21 – 27.11.21

The Point at Which We Meet began in May 2020 as a collaborative exercise between two friends that grew into a suite of intimate paintings on paper. Both artists were grappling with difficulties in their painting practice, while also attempting to navigate their quarantined existence during the pandemic. During this time, Adrian De Vries and Tinieka Page decided to collaborate on eleven hand-sized paintings, which were mailed back and forth between their respective homes. The works emerged from the process of looking, responding and eventually mailing the new iteration to the other, as each painting underwent a series of transformations with each change of hands. Ultimately, The Point at Which We Meet is a collection of paintings that encompasses a conversation between two artists, but more importantly, between two friends living towns apart.
