RECURSION/DIVERSION (PROLIFERATED CUBES)
16.05.18 – 02.06.18

It‘s a matter of form; of performance that informs form, of transformation, of endogenous change, of calling functions from within functions. It’s a case of doubling intensities and extending relations, taking it apart, finding what you like — repeating it, practicing it, and folding it back into itself. Kant held that all concepts are actually rules. The rule for this work is as follows: Deduce the formal properties of a cube, reproduce one, then, reintroduce it into the original cube. Repeat. Re-pleat.

Nicholas has exhibited at George Paton, No Vacancy, Neon Parlour, and Anita Traverso Galleries, Melbourne and Rubicon ARI, North Melbourne and the Telegram Gallery, London. He is currently undertaking a Master of Contemporary Art at University of Melbourne, Victorian College of the Arts (VCA)
