Nick Waddell
Dead-ends and endless digressions
28.07.21 – 14.08.21

The exhibition titled: “Dead-ends and endless digressions” is Waddell’s first solo exhibition since completing a doctoral degree in Fine Art from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2020. This all-new body of work expands on Waddell’s ongoing research concerning the effects of unreliable historical narratives on contemporary Australian images of representation.

Waddell combines traditional notions of Sculpture and Drawing with found objects and other materials in various states of decay/entropy as powerful metaphors for articulating the passing of time. Challenging conventional notions of how and what can be memorialised.
