So much of an artist’s practice is alchemical. It is about the co-presence of the literal and the mystical, the material and the mind. With its links to the past, it alludes to science, its experimental method and development of chemistry, to physical and mental human interactions with materials, and to the development of colours, geometry and philosophy.

In Alchemical, I take corners of these notions and link them to practices of printmaking (cyanotypes and monotypes) and painting in oils. While the world is in flux and we await the  ultimate fine product, our elixir of life, this artist has responded with what best sustains and gives her meaning.
