Commenced in May, 2020, at the height of Melbourne’s initial COVID lockdown, Pandemic Paintings are a series of small abstract paintings. Each of the works employ a combination of hard edged and gestural marks and interweaving of colour to form, layered, abstract compositions. The works are intimate in scale and respond to the changed conditions of the lockdown and the restrictive size of the artist’s studio.
